I especially liked the walkthrough button! Seriously though, this is a great start to what I hope will be a magic series. My mother used to sing that song but I don't think she knew the words - now you've taught them to me.

Like the others I liked the start, but after that nothing happened. On the other hand you've created the sexiest Caramelldanser, I think, out of all those on Newgrounds. Its good, but limited.

Firstly, I love sim date games, to which this was very similar. This sim was very playable to begin with, but by the time day 150 rolled round, the prospect of another 150 days of a game I had all but won was not very appealing. I had maxed out the building upgrades and advertising well before day 180 and was then given a task to build an opium room by 210! All my houses had opium rooms already. I also had 23 girls by day 180 and the job of looking after them all was tedious to say the least. Even the yakusa had given up setting fire to my houses! I soldiered on to day 210, but then threw in the towel.
My general comments are: (1) Throw in some random events to liven it up a bit. (2) The joker choice after the first few weeks is always events not money, because the money is too small to be attractive. (3) It needs some guidance as to what a girl needs to go up a rank, if that's a target. (4) The interface needs simplifying - I think LoP2 is a great example to follow. (5) Girls should run off occasionally, as in real life, providing a staff turnover.
I should add that I'm not a micro-manager by any means, I would say I was a fairly average, but experienced player. But it's still a well thought out and interesting game for all that. PM me if you'd like to try out any ideas.

I sent eps 1&2 to a friend who said "Why do you want to depress me?" Reason is this is a brilliant animation. If, like me you can remember the 60s, the theme will be familiar territory, but the execution of the movie is great with the Spielberg-like telling of the story through one person's experience. For those to whom the concept is new and shocking, watch The War Game, a 1965 film about the nuclear holocaust by Peter Watkins, which was banned for 20 years because it shocked people too much.

Accepting that not everyone would get the EMP part, you're still telling an exciting story in a very lean, professional way. Graphics and sounds top-notch. If this alerts Americans (and others) to the danger of people like Cheney and Palin, so much the better.

Intelligent, well made, engaging, (prophetic?) - what more could you ask for? The phallicism of the military and their toys juxtaposed beautifully with the girl on the beach. I eagerly anticipate the rest.

Plenty of other games like this - better and without the annoying commercials.

Neil Jordan eat your heart out! You packed a deal of atmosphere into 30 seconds. I agree with most of the previous constructive criticism. I know you only had 30 seconds to make it originally, but why not extend it, now you know people like it? Think: "What big eyes/ears/teeth you have, grandma!"

Very original. Captures the senselessness and slaughter of WWI beautifully. As a fan of the old Close Combat PC games, this is the closest I've seen a flash come. Well done!
Author's Response:
Heck yeah! Close Combat 2 was one of my favourite games growing up. The next few in the series should keep you happy too.

Delightful little story well animated. I agree that it was a bit long drawn out and I also found the ending a bit quick and visually difficult to take in (though it was obvious what was going to happen). Perhaps less time on the first part and more on the second would be good.
